Hi, I have discovered today that I should have contacted HMRC when my name changed due to marriage and also my changes of address. I worked for the same employer for nearly 40 years and I have since taken early retirement. I have an NI Number but I think it is associated with my maiden name. I got married 23 years ago. I have also had two changes of address. I have tried to update my details online but get caught in a loop of trying to prove my identity, as my NI number is still associated with my maiden name and presumably the house I was born in. I can't remember the exact time I first changed address as I was in my 20s when I left home, I'm now 60. Can you advise me as to the best course of action please? I obviously need to link my work activity/NI contributions/NI Number to my current name and address. Thank you.
