Hi there, Please can I clarify what ‘some rental income’ means when declaring adjusted income for free childcare eligibility? The gross income figure would take me over the 100k bracket, however when I file my self assessment the property income figure is considerably lower than the gross figure, when accounting for allowable expenses. So can I confirm, is the property income figure that I would supply for the adjusted income for childcare purposes the same net figure that would show in my self assessment once all calculations have been made? For example, I earned around 12k in property income however I filed 6k in self assessment after allowances (mortgage, maintenance costs) were accounted for. Thank you.

Hi,
Please have a look at the guidance on tax free childcare at:
TFC11050
There is guidance on calculating adjusted net income at:
Personal Allowances: adjusted net income
Thank you.
