Hi, We recently got contacted by Amazon saying 'we need additional documentation to determine whether you are established in the UK for Value Added Tax (VAT) purposes.' The documents provided to Amazon were: - Evidence of Physical operation (Supplier bill) - Internet bill - Directors Utility bill - 1 Director (British Passport) 2 Director (Indian Passport and BRP) + Driving License After providing everything, the checks still failed the UK establishment. And After several calls with Amazon I received a VAT bill and I told them I am not registered as VAT as my threshold has not met. Moreover, amazon said the checks are not being met from HMRC side, Is there anyone at HMRC who can help on me to provide evidence from HMRC by business is established in the UK?

Hi,
From a VAT perspective we would not be able to confirm to you if you are a UK established business or a non established taxable business. The guidance below details the criteria of a non established taxable business:
Who should register for VAT (VAT Notice 700/1)
We would reconmmend contacting the marketplace again to confirm that we can not provide you with this confirmation and that they will either need to accept the evidence provided to them from you or to request alternative evidence from you.
Thank you.
