Hi, Apologies if I am posting this in the wrong place. I have been awarded respite / compensation from a company carrying out noisy works outside my flat. These consist in a small weekly allowance for activities outside the home (I claim the money spent back) and an office space (again I am paying and they pay back). This is for a total duration of under three months. Is this taxable? I am on PAYE, basic rate, and I don't understand anything about tax (I don't have to do a tax return). Thank you.

Hi Mimix,
If this is not to cover loss of trade as self employed then it is not taxable.
Thank you.
