To whom it may concern. I am a self employed graphic designer earning income from my clients in South Africa and have also recently started a half day job in the UK. What is currently happening, is my income is too low to actually pay PAYE in the UK on my UK salary. I am declaring all my South African income in South Africa and paying tax on that. I am however unsure if I need to pay tax in the UK on the graphic design income from SA? My worry is that the UK is losing out on tax if you consider my other income apart from the UK salary, but on the other hand I do declare it in SA.. I need help please. I know there is a DTA between the countries but do not understand what I need to do. I will not be visiting South Africa regularly, maybe once a year for 2-3 weeks.
