Income tax refund

I Nidhi  an Indin citizen had worked in UK In Surrey University Surrey, from May 2, 2024 to July 16, 2024. I left UK on 17/07/2024. On July 29, 2024 I claim of refund of excess income tax deducted from my salary. I received a message from MHRC on September 1, 2024 that I have paid excess tax and MHRC will refund the amount of £ 1561.40 by Cheque and Cheque will be posted to my address in UK which I have left on 16/07/2024. I don’t know whether Cheque is posted and what is the status of refund. I have contacted MHRC for transferring the amount to my bank account but I am told that bank transfer is not possible only Cheque will be issued. Please guide me how to get my refund while I’m in India
