VAT Number still shows as Invalid on VAT Checker after 4 months

On 3rd September 2023 I received confirmation that my business was registered for VAT effective from 1st August. It's now October 10th and the VAT number is still invalid on HMRC VAT checker. Why the 3 month+ delay? How can I get my number activated? Any help and advice would be welcome.

HMRC are aware that there is a problem with the VAT checker showing invalid Registration Numbers.
Please call our Helpline on 03002003700 so that we can take your details and pass them on to our Team who are dealing with this particularr issue.
