Hi there I would like ship a crate of the old £1 coins (£10,000) from Manila to Heathrow. They are no longer legal tender but can be deposited in banks. I am quoted by a broker that there is VAT to pay on the value of my shipment. I used to fly into London with £1000 in old coins and there’s nothing to pay. Where can I find information stating I need to pay or not? HMRC website mentions goods, but nothing about money. Thank you!
