i already have one VAT registered business trading on ebay .... i was about to sell little different items on different ebay ID and opened up another ltd company and started selling would i be requiring to register for VAT on second company as well as its threshold is less than 90000 per year. Also first company is still VAT registered and will still be trading as VAT registered business. so this second new company requires to be VAT registered as well , as owner is same and trading platform is same , Also if it has to be VAT registered then can we do flat rate scheme on new company whereas first company is on standard 20 percent scheme.

Hi,
The VAT registration threshold is separate to each legal entity which is trading and so you could have 2 separate companies with one company being VAT registered and the other not VAT registered.
However please see below :
Statement of Practice 4 (1983)
Please see the reuirements of joing the Flat rate Scheme as below:
Eligibility and conditions of the scheme
Thank you.
