Vat Application Applied 30/04/23 No Number Issued Yet 02/08/23

Applied for a vat number on 30 April and had no reply despite emailing the vrs with 40 days plus in the title and the application number as requested. Will need to do a vat return soon and are already over the threshold in 3 months Tried to phone but the vat helpline is closed. At a loss as to what to try now-any ideas anyone?
