Hi I deregistered for VAT last month as my turnover for the last 12 months was well below the 85k threshold, I have the letter from HMRC telling me my VAT is no cancelled however ebay has informed me that my account is now restricted as HMRC asked them to do so. When speaking to ebay regarding this they have informed me that is normal and that I need a letter/PDF from HMRC saying I no longer need to be VAT registered, apparently the cancelation letter is not enough. Can someone please advise or provide the correct phone number to contact to resolve this, I am currently not making any money until this is resolved. Kind regards Wayne

Hi sunbiz,
If you have a letter from HMRC confirming that the VAT number has been cancelled then this should be enough to confirm to the marketplace that the VAT number has been deregistered.
If there is still an issue, please speak with our Deregistrations Team on 0300 322 7871
Thank you.
