Hello, I purchased some goods from abroad. FedEx took the VAT payment on the goods entering the country. The goods did not arrive and I will need to claim back my VAT paid out. Please direct me as to how to go about this, thank you.

Hello, I'm not a health professional. The goods that were imported were precious stones. Thank you

Hi I would suggest that you contact FedEx. This is probably a matter for insurance. If VAT payment has been taken then that implies that the goods had physically arrived in the UK and were lost within the UK. It is possible to reclaim overpaid taxes however you usually end details of the import https://www.gov.uk/guidance/how-to-apply-for-a-repayment-of-import-duty-and-vat-if-youve-overpaid-c285
