The name under business for my VAT number is my personal name (eg David). I have only one business that makes taxable supplies and I don't make any under my name. The name of this business is not my name (eg Cupboards Ltd). Can I issue a VAT invoice for a supply my company makes and put my VAT number on it? If not, does this mean my customers don't have to pay VAT on the supplies I make to them because my VAT registration is in my personal name not my company name? What impact would this have on my customers if they pay VAT to me and I pay the VAT to HMRC but the invoice is from my company? Would you return the VAT to me and wait for me to issue a new invoice with my own name on it because this is the name of my registration?

Hi.

If you are VAT registered as a limited company then the entity registered should be the limited company.

Can you please contact our Helpline urgently as we need to find out why the incorrect entity is showing and
we can then quickly resolve this.

Please see below:

Thank you .
