Hi Can someone help I have received a Customs payment request via parcelforce for duty etc of £95.75 for goods shipped from a German warehouse for 2 solar panels from China. The goods were ordered via AliExpress and VAT has been paid on the goods and shipping, the total payed was £130.66, goods value £118.28 inc 20% VAT the balance was shipping plus VAT Dose this sound plausible? Who generates the customs charges? How dose one challenge the charges without having to pay the customs invoice? Thanks

Hi Gerald I would suggest at first you go back to Parcelforce to query the charges . It sounds like your supplier has possibly included UK supply VAT as the shipment value was below £135 therefore import VAT isn’t.due.
