The payload of a Land Rover Defender Hard Top is a max of 800kg. As this is less than 1 tonne, does this mean that a Land Rover Defender Hard Top does not qualify as a commercial vehicle for VAT, Income Tax & BIK purposes?

Hi,
From a VAT perspective this would be defined as a car. You can see the guidelines here:
The VAT definition of a car
Thank you.

I understand that this is VAT qualifying, and have had a few that vat has been claimed back. Can anyone help regarding BIK, and in particular what will id be classed as in April 2025, Pick up truck will classed as cars from April for the purpose of BIK will the Land rover remain a light commercial vehicle? Thanks
