A suppliers refuses to provide a VAT receipt / invoice for an online order motivating it with a wrong billing address in the order. We are happy to amend the address on the order , the suppliers claims it is not possible.

The question is, if the supplier is entitled to refuse to provide the VAT receipt if we by mistake put the billing address same as shipping address but are happy to have it amended

Hi AlinaSelfAccountant,
If you are VAT registered then it is a legal requirement for a supplier to provide you with a correct VAT invoice as you will need this to be able to reclaim this VAT as input tax on your VAT return.
Please see the guidance below:
16. VAT invoices
Thank you.
