In brief, I can't file my return as HMRC has deleted my ID and account (saying it was 3 years old, when I filed a return 3 months ago...) I set up a new account as they directed. I added my VAT details - it said I couldn't as there was already an account with that info. I called the HMRC helpline, held for 15 mins, explained what had happened. I was told I needed to speak to the help line (which is what I thought I'd rung clearly), and whatever they needed to do would take 2 weeks to rectify. She said she'd put me through so I didn't have to wait. And then immediately cut me off. No phone call back to me to apologise (she has my details, she checked them). The live chat she suggested is closed. I've spent 90 mins on this.. how do I get it sorted?
