Re-registering for VAT online

I am wanting to register for VAT but unsure how to do this online after de-registering in June 2024. I am self employed and did not work for the last few months but now resumed working in December. I have attempted to apply again online but have been unable to do so. What is the process I need to follow or am I able to use my old VAT number and certificate?

Hi,
If you have deregistered your VAT number and need to register for VAT again then please see the following link:
Register for VAT
You can create a new Goverment Gateway account in order to register for VAT again or you can use your old account. If you use your old account then you will need to remove the old VAT details from your account before stsrting.
