Client registered for a trademark a while back, they are looking to sell this now (the actual trademark, not just the right to use it). Should they be charging VAT on it?

Hi Makkalany,
If they are selling a registered trademark to a customer in the UK then this would be a UK taxable supply and so VAT would be charged.
However, if the sale constitutes a transfer of a going concern then would be disregarded for VAT purposes.
Please see the guidance below:
2. How to apply the TOGC rules
Thank you.
