RE: Critical Illness payout - where would I include it?
Hi, (1) Is the Critical Illness insurance payout meant a form of reimbursement or lump sum payout? (2) If the Critical Illness insurance payout is a form of lump sum payout, then will such payout be taxed? (3) Is it the same tax regulation for the payouts of Critical Illness insurance policies which were issued by the insurers of the UK and overseas? Thank you in advance. -
RE: Tax on a payout from a health insurance company
Hi, Regarding the personal health insurance policies which are paid by myself, I would like to have your answers for the following questions: (1) I understand that if the reimbursement from the personal health insurance policy, I no need to pay any tax on the compensation. Is this regulation applied to all the personal health insurance policies which were issued by the insurance companies in UK and overseas? (2) If the compensation from the health insurance is Daily Income compensation, e.g. £50 Per Day will be received from the insurance company as the compensation during my hospital confinement, then will I be required to pay tax on such compensation? What is the tax regulation for such Daily Income compensation if the health insurance policy is issued by the insurance company in overseas? Thank you in advance. -
