Hi, If I sell my German home , then move to the UK and buy a home, do I need to pay CPT on the sale of my German home ( if I sell it before I move but in the same tax year?)

Hi, I am a tax resident in Germany and own a home. I wish to relocate to the UK and plan to sell my home here and buy one there when I move. If I sell and bring my money over to buy a new home in UK, do I then have to declare the money as income if this all happens within a UK tax year? And could you also tell me if I am better or worse off if I go to the UK, renting a property there, while my home here is for sale ( or whether I need to stay a tax resident in Germany until the sale is completed).
