I am currently nearing completion of our self build project and trying to understand timings in terms of VAT claim eligibility. I understand the 6 month VAT reclaim countdown from the issuing of the certificate of completion by the local planning authority. During the 6 month countdown some works will continue to be completed. Some of which are eligible in the guidance for the reclaiming of VAT. Question is can these be included if they fall after building completion certificate and within the 6 month reclaim window. We are looking to move in before 100% completion and trying to understand the impact on my VAT reclaim.
