Hi, I have purchased a property A in England in 2017. Due to work circumstances, I moved to a different part of UK and have been renting since. Because of this, my property A was changed to buy to let. Now I am purchasing a new residential property (property B) to be my main home in the place where I live and will pay the higher rate of stamp duty. My question is, if within a few years I decided to move to a different part of UK due to work and had to sell property B and buy another one (property C) to be my main residence close to my new work place, can I get a refund on the stamp duty that was paid for property B ? Or would I be expected to pay stamp duty for the second time for property C without any refund?

I moved from northern Ireland to Ireland to work for one year. I worked in Ireland, paid tax on my employment income and contributed to pension in Ireland. I have moved back to northern Ireland after finishing my one year work in Ireland. I am planing to move my savings over the last one year to my bank account in UK . Do I need to pay tax again on this giving that I have already paid tax in Ireland on my income? Thanks
  • RE: Income tax

These savings are from my employment income only while working in Ireland. Thanks
