RE: NI number breach.....
It was said that HMRC take steps to prevent NI theft..YET, it is happening, I myself found out today a false building company is using my NI and reporting false payments of non-existent wages, Due to disabilities I'm currently on Universal credit, but my payment has been halved due to "apparently being paid" for work I have no knowledge of or indeed physically even able to do, to what purpose I do not know, I can only assume it's to do with either Tax fraud or working illegal immigrants, but I did find out this has been quite prominent in the news recently as NI theft...I am awaiting a decision as to whether anything will be done about this, leaving me severely out of pocket and extremely Angry, it only took me no more than 25-30 minutes to locate this "apparent company"... absolutely no contact details available what so ever(I'd say this makes it hard to gain contracts for which your apparently paying people to work for!!) no information about this BUILDING company at all, RED FLAGS all around, ...yet it's going to take UC a while to investigate, and HMRC told me they have will not take steps themselves. Yet I was under the impression this is their responsibility.
