Taxable income for cross border worker
Hi folks, I’ve a quick question about the correct way to fill in my tax return. I live in Northern Ireland and work in Ireland so I need to complete a self assessment to declare my income. There are two parts of the form I am not completely sure on. 1. For the employment section, it says to enter my income as shown on my P60. As I work in Ireland I do not have this document so I assume I should enter my total income minus my employee pension contributions. Any tax paid in Ireland should not be deducted from this figure. If this is not correct please let me know. 2. For the foreign income section, it says to enter my taxable income. Once again I assume that I should enter my total income minus my employee pension contributions. Again any tax paid in Ireland should not be deducted from this figure. If this is not correct please let me know. Thank you for your help!
