  • How much medication can be posted to you by an overseas friend if you want it for personal use?

I'm moving to the UK in a couple of months, currently living in NZ. The antihistamine that I purchase is in NZ under the supervision of my GP, is Labixten - it's the only one I can take because I'm allergic to the excipients of all the other brands doctors can prescribe here, and even all the OTC ones. In the UK I believe it's called ilaxten. But there is conflicting information online about whether I would be able to get it in the UK - it seems only a hospital specialist can prescribe it there? Does anyone know if that is the case? There's another item I can only get in NZ as I'm allergic to the ingredients of any similar item in the UK. Therefore, I'm wanting to get a friend to post them to me from NZ. The postage from NZ to UK isn't cheap and the only way I could afford to do it this way is if I can get my friend to post me a years' worth of antihistamines and the other item and just do it once a year. But my understanding is that in order for her to tick that it is for personal use only, (I'm not importing that many so I can sell them), UK customs would only accept a 3 month supply of the antihistamine, and a 3 month supply of the other item? Is this correct? If so, is there an alternative way to go about getting these items that I may just not have thought about?
