Just to clarify; I’ve been paying my self assessment tax bill with monthly direct debits over the year since Jan. Do I have to therefore pay the £40 late penalty fee now and then it looks like another penalty fee of £100 in 3 months? And are there then further penalty fees over the year as the bill is spread over one year?

I am paying my tax bill with monthly payments first debit. Just received a late penalty charge. Can I appeal this?
