I received a letter to my home from HMRC confirming a company had successfully registered themselves for VAT. I have no connection whatsoever to this company, so can only assume they've used my address fraudulently. I tried reaching out to the company to ask why they'd used my address but they are not co-operating - you'd think if this were an innocent mistake they'd resolve it immediately but it has been over two months now... Has anyone experienced anything similar? Apart from informing HMRC and waiting for them to remove my address from the company's account, is there anything else I can do?
