  • National Insurance Contributions

I was in the UK on a Spouse Visa for the tax years 2009/2010, 2010/2011. After which, I became a UK citizen. I didn't pay enough National Insurance contributions during these two tax years, so these tax years are gaps in my National Insurance record to qualify for a UK State Pension. Am I allowed to pay Voluntary Class 3 National Contributions for these two tax years, and if I do, will these two tax years then contribute towards my UK State Pension?
