  • Internet as allowable expense

hello. i'm a sole trader using cash basis; i see the advice regarding claiming for internet/phone costs is to proportion out what is business vs personal. However, I pay to host a website and use multiple cloud-based services which are essential to my business. There is no cap on my internet usage from my ISP. Whilst these days internet access is considered a standard 'utility' it isn't paid for by the volume it is used, you either have it or you don't - usage is not metered like gas or electricity (which I claim via simplified expenses). To this extent I can't split its use by personal or business. Is it reasonable to claim the total annual cost of my ISP subscription as an allowable expense? thanks
