  • Self-Employed and Carers Allowance

I'm currently receiving carers allowance, which provides some income taxable income per week and is a class 1 NI contribution. I've got an opportunity to earn some extra money, but it involves me registering as self-employed - this work will not affect my eligibility for carers allowance in regards to the earning limits or hours cared. If I register as self employed and have an income of under £6,000, do I not need to pay any class 2 NI and can expect my carers allowance to continue to fill my national insurance record as a class 1 contribution?
