RE: Informing HMRC regards second home sale
Question to HMRC Admin - so, you do not need to report it straight away because the sale will result in a loss. However, you should report it when completing the annual SA, because you can carry forward the loss to future years in order to offset the loss against any gains in the future. Is this correct? -
Reporting Loss on Sale of 2nd Property
Hello, Upon Completion of sale of my 2nd property within this tax year (2023/2024), I will be making a significant loss. Please advise if I need to report this within the 60 day rule or can I report it with my annual 2023/2024 tax Self Assessment which I will file by end of January 2025? Thank you
