RE: UK Tax on Indian Provident Fund
Hello, I am UK resident (non-domiciled). I am planing to withdraw my provident fund in India which was accumulated before I moved to the UK. The fund has three components (employee contribution, employer contribution, and interest earned). As employee contribution and employer contribution were my income before moving to the UK - categorise as Capital. so I will pay UK taxes on the Interest earned by declaring in SA106. How do I provide details of the employee and employer contribution in my self assessment return? Please suggest. -

Capital Gain tax calculation
i am planning to sell my overseas property that I bought property in 2007, This was our main residence (home) until we moved to UK in Sep 2018 and become UK resident (non-domiciled). I have the following questions: 1. Will I be able to rebase the value to Sep 2018, to calculate the capital gain when i sell it? 2. Will i be able to use Private Residence Relief 3. As i own 50% of the share, so the capital gain will be charged on 50% of the capital gain? 4. Do i need to declare in Self assessment if the total capital gain is less than £3000 capital gain allowance? thanks for your help in answering the queries. -
switching to remittance basis for past years
Hi, I have been filing tax returns for last 4 years (2019/20, 20/21, 21/22. 22/23) myself. I have recently figured out that I should have checked the remittance basis flag for the global income. I have not remitted any money so far. Do I need to use the WDF (Worldwide Disclosure Facility) and resubmit the past years tax calculations or Can I amend the tax returns using the authorised tool to resubmit my tax returns as Remittance Basis? Please suggest. thanks,
