Moving from Income Support to Universal Credit and free prescriptions question
Hello. I got a letter recently saying that I needed to move from Income Support to Universal Credit. My question is this: I currently get Income Support and Carers Allowance and I do not work because of this. I do not pay for my prescriptions as I am on Income Support. Before the prescriptions were sent digitally from my surgery to my chemist, I used to get a paper prescription, and I used to tick the exception box on the back for Income Support. Now when I order my medication, the prescriptions go over to the chemist electronically/digitally and from there, they get delivered to my home, so I am unable to tick a different box on the back to say that I am on Universal Credit. I'm assuming that when I ticked the box on the back of the paper prescriptions some years back, the assumption is that I am still in receipt of Income Support. It looks like I will still be able to get free prescriptions when I am moved to Universal Credit, but I am wondering when I get moved from Income Support to Universal Credit, do I need to let anyone know that I am no longer on Income Support and if so who, and how do I notify them? Thanks.
