  • RE: annual bonus tax implications

I was recently made redundant with my last day being 31 Oct. On 25th November I'm to be paid 3 months notice period. My payslip has shown as extremely high rate of tax as a result. I have been successful in getting a new role where my first pay will be end of December. I'm likely to fall somewhere just below the 45% tax bracket for the full year but this could change and I could breach it. I understand that come tax year end I will only be charged the fair rate of tax and be refunded in needs be; my question however centres around the impact to my new pay from my new employer. Will each of my payslips for the remainder of this tax year incur the full salary being taxed at 45%? Really feels like being paid three months notice becomes more of a burden if so. Thanks for any clarification
