I have a UTR number but my application for NINO was rejected as I am above employment age and am not seeking any benefits. I cannot prove my identity online at the Govt Gateway as I do not have a UK Passport or driving license and am thus unable to register to file my self assessment online. All the income I have is from overseas and I don't not have any assets or income in the UK. Is there a way I could register to file my tax return online rather than to full up and post the paper forms?
Hi, my relation aged 80 years moved from overseas to live in the UK. They are not UK nationals and have been living abroad all their life. They have been allotted a UTR number but dont have a NI number as they are retired and have no intention to work in the UK. How do they apply for a NI number so that they can file their self assessment online to HMRC? They do not have any income in the UK but have overseas income of more than £2,500. Any help will be much appreciated.
