RE: Inheritance Tax Exemption.
Your inheritance Tax general enquiries do not give specific tax information already tried them they only deal with new applications or ongoing cases for a limited amount of issues when I rang them they stated that I needed to contact a solicitor as they could not help. -
Inheritance Tax Exemption.
I want to gift money to my spouse so she can pay off her remaining mortgage balance but I do not want her to have any tax liability. Have seen this on HMRC website seems to say there would not be any liability. Who does not pay Inheritance Tax Some gifts are exempt from Inheritance Tax. There’s no Inheritance Tax to pay on gifts between spouses or civil partners. You can give them as much as you like during your lifetime, as long as they: live in the UK permanently are legally married or in a civil partnership with you There’s also no Inheritance Tax to pay on any gifts you give to charities or political parties. Any advice would be welcome.
