Clarification on Declaring Foreign Income in Self-Assessment
Hi, I have a query regarding the declaration of foreign income for the 2023-2024 tax year. My total income includes: £11,200 from UK interest, £270 from foreign interest (HK), and £200 from foreign dividends (US). Do I need to declare the foreign interest and dividend income, given the small amounts? If so, should I use the SA106 form to report this, or is it sufficient to include it directly on the SA100 form? Thank you for your assistance. -
Clarification on Foreign Dividends and Foreign Tax Credit Relief
Hi, I am completing my tax return using software and have two questions: I have foreign dividends from five countries, but SA106 Page F2 only displays three due to space. The total amount is correctly shown in Box 6. Is this acceptable? My Income Tax after allowances is £0. Should I still calculate and fill Box 2 (Foreign Tax Credit Relief)? If yes, should I sum up only the 15% withholding tax I paid overseas, as this is the only foreign tax I incurred? Thank you. -
