Hello, Thank you so much for the answer! Could I register online, or would I have to do it using post? I have been redirected to VAT1A form when looking for distance selling, but it only mentions shipping to Northern Ireland. Would this apply to the rest of UK as well? Or is there a different form I should fill out. Thank you in advance! -
EU retail business registering for VAT in the UK
Hello, I own a small retail business in the EU (Ireland) and plan on shipping goods (not exceeding £135) to my customers in the UK. Would I have to register my business for VAT in the UK in order to sell goods there? I was informed by Irish postal services (AnPost) that I wouldn’t have to register for VAT in the UK, but have found plenty of articles online that suggest otherwise. My business is not VAT registered in Ireland, and the turnover would not exceed VAT thresholds in the UK either. Thank you in advance
