  • Self employed UK, digital nomad Spain- apartment in both counties

Hi, I've navigated a lot on this topic but I'm confused on a couple of points. -I am planning to return to self-employment for a long-term contract (remote) with a UK company. I would be in the 40% tax bracket for this. - I wish to apply for a 3 year- digital nomad visa in Spain. I retained a lawyer to support me with the visa application and they advise me that I can do this with self-employment. and would meet criteria. However, they do not handle tax advice. Where I am stuck: - I am named on a tenancy agreement in the UK with a family member where I stay when I visit. - I am named on a tenancy agreement in Spain with my partner - I do not own either property. I understand the double taxation agreement with Spain that I would classify as being tested under the rules to decide where my cultural ties are strongest as they would be viewed as permanent homes. I believe because of my family and bank accounts and some bills (council tax etc) mean that would be the UK tie. Therfore- Would pay tax to both Spain and the UK (potentially at a partial rate?) I wish to be clear so I can retain the proper accountancy practice and abide by correct HMRC practice.
