I am currently employed in Ireland and travel to work from Northern Ireland. Am I eligible to pay Class 2 national Insurance contributions as I am employed abroad and still living in the UK. I have always lived in the UK. I understand if I had moved to live abroad I would be entitled to pay class 2 as per cf83 form and related guidance, The Guidance does not however appear to confirm if a UK resident working abroad can pay the lower rate of class 2 to build UK state pension entitlement
