Contribution of £2,880 to pension plan - tax relief
Hello, I wanted to confirm my understanding of the concession which allows a 'non-tax payer 'to contribute £2,880 and receive 20% tax relief on the contribution so long as the pension provider claims relief at source. My understanding is that 'non tax payer' refers to someone who has not earned more than £3,600 from 'work' income and that income from interest on 'savings' which exceed £3,600 is disregarded. So, I might be a tax payer due to certain income from savings but if my work income is less than £3,600, I can still obtain the 20% tax relief if I pay in to the pension plan £2,890? Thank you,
