I recently sold a property in france at a loss. Do i need to include this on my self assessment? I do not want to claim or offset any future tax against this.

I own a rental property and am completing my self assessment. I had the roof of this property replaced last year. Can i claim this cost as an expense against my income? The roof was old and leaking and needed replacing.
