  • HMRC Ignoring SATR Charing Tax through PAYE

Here’s a good one for you. I have successfully submitted a SATR covering my PYE and Pension earnings for FY23/24. With a result that I was due a refund, which I have just claimed. I was therefore shocked and somewhat irritated that HMRC has without cognisance to my SATR just down an automatic tax assessment against my PAYE and HMRC now tells me I owe then £1900. Seemingly ignoring the submission of the SATR. On talking to the Tax advisors online about 3 hours of dreadful hold music neither the PAYE or the SATR advisors, were trained to advise me what had gone wrong and what the SATR was effectively being ignored.
