Hi, I submitted a request for a UTR and have received the following email that contradicts itself about what I need to do next. To quote the email: "The registration form you recently submitted confirming you have commenced Self-Employment has been processed by HMRC. You should receive a letter from us within approximately 10 days which will confirm your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR). Please keep this reference safe" ... which is then immediately followed by: "You will not receive a letter confirming your UTR as HMRC has not registered you for Self Assessment." Anyone else dealt with this? Can an admin give me some useful info? I don't want to submit another request and end up with 2 UTR numbers. The AI chatbot is useless and won't give me any contact details to ask about this. Thanks.
