RE: VAT on stonemason cemetery permit
Thank you. Again the onus seems to put on the customer to verify or ask and not the supplier of good and services to ensure they do not charge VAT where none should be charged and vice versa. -
RE: VAT on stonemason cemetery permit
If the permit is issued to start work on a headstone due to interment of ashes as per 3.2 of VAT Notice 701/32 - would they still be subject to standard rate for a exempt activity? Customers may not feel confident to ask the business. -
RE: Showing VAT on receipts , invoices and fees lists etc.
Thank you. Re: Also if the good/service is VAT is exempt are they required to indicate that said good/services are exempt of VAT I find that surprising and troubling. I'm currently dealing with burial/cremation purchases and some businesses either misunderstand what is and is not VAT exempt which leaves the customer in an invidious position. -
Showing VAT on receipts , invoices and fees lists etc.
If any establishment charges VAT on goods and services are they required to indicate whether VAT has been applied and at what rate? Is there a standard format for showing whether VAT has been applied? Also if the good/service is VAT is exempt are they required to indicate that said good/services are exempt of VAT? What recourse does a customer have if they have been charged VAT on good/services that are exempt? -
VAT on stonemason cemetery permit
Good afternoon, I've sought out estimates from some stonemasons and all pointed me to the need to pay for permit for the stonemason to access the grave headstone in a cemetery. The cemetery has confirmed they charge for the permit and the charge indicates VAT is payable. Are permits vatable and does it make any difference if the fee is charged to the customer (member of the public)
