RE: Selling items online
Thank you. Just to be absolutely sure, though, my last message does not mean she has to register for SA? -
RE: Selling items online
Thank you - when she buys something she has in the back of her mind that she *could* sell it for a small profit if it doesn't fit but this isn't her main intention - which is personal use. Is this okay? -
Selling items online
Hi there, My wife regularly buys clothing for her own personal use. If it doesn't fit or isn't suitable she'll sell it on for a small profit, making for an income of around 1000-2000 a year. Since her *prime intention* is not buying for the sake of making a profit, does she need to register for SA, since she is technically selling personal items? -
RE: Box 27 on short self employment SA form - Goods for own use
Thank you - but the self employment form specifically says if I fill in the tax allowance box 10.1 I still need to factor in box 27 goods transferred to personal use. Is this simply an error on the form? -
RE: Box 27 on short self employment SA form - Goods for own use
Thank you for your help. I'm planning on claiming the tax-free allowance rather than expenses. But the form would still suggest I need to report goods transferred to personal use anyway - why do I need to do this if I'm not claiming expenses? If I do need to report this anyway, I assume HMRC would be happy with an estimate given the difficulty of judging the exact value of the paint, etc I've used for personal use? -
Box 27 on short self employment SA form - Goods for own use
I'm a very small-time decorator, doing up my own house at the same time as starting out self employed. Have been using some paint, filler and tools originally bought for business purposes on my home. Do I need to enter an estimation of the value of paint used in this way in Box 27, or the prices of the products as a whole as originally bought? What about e.g. a hop-up I bought for business but now use for both purposes? -
Do my wife's casual earnings count for my miscellaneous income?
The answer is perhaps obvious but I'm confused by where the SA form says I need to report any casual earnings I've made, including those involving receipts from a 'connected' party. My wife sells bits and pieces through vinted and this ends up in our joint account after being in her PayPal account. Is that what's meant?
