I've just recently had my Class 2 contributions allocated after waiting for 5 months. I rang the helpdesk to find out what was happening when my class 3 contributions for a different year had been allocated but not the class 2 year. I was told there was a backlog which would mean it wouldn't be looked at until January 2026! I pointed out that I am due to be eligible for state pension in the next few months and this seemed to have expedited the process.

I'm UK tax resident but did some work in Australia in last tax year. My employer made a contribution to my Australian superannuation account (as required). I paid tax on the contribution. Can I declare this as a pension contribution in my UK tax return under 'contributions to overseas pension scheme'? Thanks
