Discrepancy between the information on My Gov online account and recent correspondence
hi, I completed the Application to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions for periods living or working abroad last August and received correspondence in relation to same in September with details of gaps in my NIC records and how much had to be paid. I then made an online payment as per the instructions for making a bank transfer. This was about 4 weeks ago. I went to check my online record and the information presented there in relation to my records is different to what was in the letter in relation to the shortfall and class of contributions I owe. How do I clarify which one is correct - the most recent correspondence from HMRC on what I need to pay or the information online? thanks
