HMRC have not updated my self-assessment in over 6 months so far. May I know what I can do?

Does anyone have experience editing paper tax returns?

I sent the Self-Assessment Amendment 2022-2023 to HMRC by post and they received it on 27 December 2023. They told me around end of October 2024 give me reply, it is a normal situation?
